Study of low-high spin transition on Co3, Ru3, Rh3 atoms in LaAlO3 lattice

Description
According to the data on temperature dependence of effective magnetic momentum of diluted solid solutions LaMesub(x)Alsub(1-x)Osub(3) (Me--Co, Ru, Rh; x <= 0.1) the energy of transition from low-spin to the high-spin state for Co3, Ru3, Rh3 atoms in diamagnetic matrix of LaAlO3 is calculated. It is shown that inspite of considerable splitting in crystal field of the basic state, spin-orbital interaction results in comparatively low energy of the transition low-high spin
