This publication deals with the safety requirements relevant to all activities in predisposal management of radioactive waste, including decommissioning, that bring radioactive waste into a state suitable for storage or disposal in designated facilities. This publication places emphasis on complex situations, which are typical in the predisposal management of radioactive waste from the nuclear fuel cycle. With respect to decommissioning, this publication deals primarily with the period after termination of normal operations.
