Process for storing radioactive alkaline or alkaline earth elements

Description

The process consists essentially in embedding wastes in a slag of vitreous structure and finely ground in a concrete container. This process avoids migration by concrete leaching especially for strontium 90 and cesium 137 which are retained by a zeolitic effect

Abstract (French)

Le procede consiste essentiellement a bloquer les dechets, introduits dans des recipients en beton, a l'aide de laitier metallurgique de structure vitreuse et broye finement. Ceci permet d'eviter la migration par lixiviation du beton particulierement pour le strontium 90 et le cesium 137 qui sont retenus par effet zeolitique
