Shape instabilities in hot nuclei
Description
The large-amplitude time evolution of hot finite nuclei is analyzed within the finite-temperature mean-field framework. The expansion rate for 40Ca is obtained by solving constrained spherically symmetric Hartree-Fock equations. Considering fluctuations around the collective path, the conditions for the onset of shape instabilities is discussed. (orig.)
