V-1 Decommissioning will cause an economic shock in the field of electricity generation

Description

Slovenske elektrarne, a. s. (SE) made study concerning decommission of two unit at Bohunice and evaluation of the impact of their putting out of action on recovering yearly load curve in the Slovak Republic. The article presents an outline: - of next necessary investments; - an social impact; unsatisfied accounting deprecation of two units assets; - external costs; - environmental impact - of decommissioning of Bohunice NPP. The article compares different time of decommission Bohunice V-1 together with possible completion of unit 3 and 4 of Mochovce NPP because the problem of V-1 is not an isolated one. In case two units would be decommissioned in 2006 and 2008 respectively the costs for electricity procuring will be higher by 47.8 billion of Slovak crowns (approx. 1 billion USD - in prices of 2001 year).
