Gamma and pizero production in e+e- annihilation
Creators
Description
Inclusive cross-section of gamma rays and pizero mesons in hadronic events produced by electron-positron annihilation for the center of mass energy range 4.9 to 7.4 GeV are presented. Scale invariance of the inclusive gamma spectra is exhibited in this energy range and its normalization and shape is seen to be consistent with spectra arising from the decay of the pizero. The fraction of center of mass energy carried away by the gammas at high energies is found to be 0.24 +- 0.01. The pizero inclusive cross-section is seen to be consistent in normalization and shape with half the charged-π cross-section between x = 0.15 and 0.75, with an integrated inclusive cross-section ratio of sigma(π0)/[sigma(π+) + sigma(π-)] = 0.48 +- 0.05
