Electrochemical properties of magnesium alloys AZ31 and ZK60 in the reaction of hydrogen release

Description

The reactions of release and sorption of electrolytic hydrogen by magnesium alloys AZ31 and ZK60 were analyzed. Based on the method of cathodic polarization curves, it was found that magnesium-based alloys are 8-10 times more active in the reaction of hydrogen release than magnesium. The use of the method of electrochemical extraction with respect to these alloys was studied. It was found that the use of this method is interfered by the parallel process of etching out Zn and Al atoms in alkaline medium

Abstract (Russian)

Проанализированы реакции выделения и сорбции электролитического водорода магниевыми сплавами AZ31 и ZK60. На основе метода катодных поляризационных кривых установлено, что сплавы на основе магния являются в 8-10 раз более активными в реакции выделения водорода, чем магний. Исследовано использование метода электрохимической экстракции по отношению к этим сплавам. Выяснено, что использованию этого метода мешает параллельный процесс вытравливания атомов Zn и Al в щелочной среде
