Collisional excitation of some alkali autoionizing states
Description
The alignment has been calculated for the lowest autoionizing states in the stable alkali metal atoms, induced by impact of electrons and heavier projectiles. The alignment by heavier projectiles is seen to exhibit a very rich structure as a function of impact energy and its is anticipated that its overall behavior should be observable by experiment. 18 references, 4 figures, 3 tables
