RCuSn alloys crystal structure and magnetic susceptibility

Description
Crystal structure of LaCuSn and YCuSn, magnetic susceptibility of RCuSn (R-Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) are determined in 78-293 K temperature range. LaCuSn has the structure of the AlB2 type, other compounds, of the CaIn2 type. Compounds with Y, La, L4 are Pauli paramagnetics, magnetic susceptibility of other compounds is described by Curie-Weiss law. Effective magnetic momenta of these compounds agree well with theoretical values for momenta of three-charged R3+ ions
