Kinetics of radiolytic decomposition of tri-n-butyl phosphate

Description

Experimental and calculation methods were applied to consider the kinetics of formation of radiolysis acid products in the 30%TBP+n-dodecane - 3 mole/l HNO3 two-phase system at D=102-108 Gy. At D=102-2x103 Gy the rate of DBPA formation is constant (yield of 2, 4 molecules per 100 eV); it reduces at larger doses. The rate of MBPA and H3PO4 formation at D=104-105 Gy grows and it decreases at larger doses. Equations for DBPA, MBPA and H3PO4 formation rates and rate of TBP decomposition as well as expressions for actual concentrations of these products are proposed. Kinetic calculations are given; their results coincide with experimental data for TBP at D=105-107 Gy, for DBP - at D=103-106 Gy, for the sum of concentrations MBPA and H3PO4 - at D=106-107 Gy
