Diagnosis of malignant thyroid lesions by radioisotope scintiscanning
- 1. Ito Hospital, Tokyo (Japan)
Description
Clinical evaluation of 67Ga, 201Tl in 108 subjects with thyroid tumor lesions were performed. In general, subjects with dysgerminomas had accumulation of 67Ga and those with carcinomas had that of 201Tl. But the subjects with carcinomas in whom undifferentiated carcinomas were observed histologically, showed same positive findings as in those with dysgerminoma. In the subjects with malignant lymphomas 67Ga was accumulated and in those with adenomas or adenomatous goiter 201Tl was accumulated. In the event that it was difficult to differentiate dysgerminomas from carcinomas, scintiscanning by these radioisotopes was available. However, only the images of metastasized lymph nodes were not yet sufficient. (Kanao, N.)
