Detection of the 10.464-GHz transition of-interstellar-thioformaldehyde
Description
The 418 & 414 transition of thioformaldehyde (H2 CS) at 10.46 GHz has been detected in absorption against the galactic center source Sgr B2. The observed line width of 19.5 I 3 km 1 and velocity of +63 I 3 km s- are typical of the molecular cloud at the core of Sgr B2. A comparison with the previously observed 2ii H 2 transition at 3.14 GHz indicates that the population levels in thioformaldehyde are not thermally distributed.
