Determination of longitudinal burn-up in an experimental UO2-Mg fuel rod

Description
Results of the longitudinal burn-up determination in a UO2-Mg fuel rod are presented using radiochemical and mass spectrometric analysis. In the six fuel samples burn-up was determined basing on 137Cs, 148Nd and on changes in the isotopic composition of uranium, and a good agreement was found between them. Parallelly, the ratio of radioactivity of europium isotopes 154Eu/155Eu was determined as a function of burn-up. (author)
