Description

High level radioactive raffinate is generated during reprocessing operation which contains majority of fission products associated with spent fuel. The raffinate generated in the reprocessing block is having specific activity 20 ci/l is sent to Evaporation block for further concentration and storage. Evaporation Block (Block 105) is a centralized facility for volume reduction and interim storage of different types of liquid waste generated during process operations. Also, this Block houses facilities for auxiliary systems like uranium removal, actinide separation, Cs recovery and acid recovery system. This talk briefs the design and development of HAW management facilities
