Magnetic flux line fixing caused by defects in deformed superconducting niobium single crystals
Description
In order to perform a quantitative analysis of the fixing mechanism of flux lines caused by defects, the critical flux gradient was determined by measurements of magnetisation and the transverse critical current in niobium single crystals, deformed in an oscillatory way. From the experimental flux gradient data and the reversible behaviour of the superconductor, the maximum interaction between flux lines and defects could be determined by a statistical theory of Labusch. If flux lines and defects have perpendicular orientation, a fixing force of 1.1 x 10-7 dyn results. (GSC)

Zur quantitativen Analyse der Verankerung von Flussfaeden durch Versetzungen wurde der kritische Flussgradient durch Magnetisierungs- und transversale kritische Strommessungen an wechselverformten Niob-Einkristallen bestimmt. Aus den gemessenen Flussgradienten und dem reversiblen Verhalten der Supraleiter konnte die maximale Wechselwirkung zwischen Flussfaeden und Versetzungen mit Hilfe einer statistischen Theorie von Labusch bestimmt werden. Fuer den Fall, dass Flussfaeden und Versetzungen senkrecht zueinander liegen, ergab sich eine Verankerungskraft von 1,1 x 10-7 dyn. (GSC)Additional details
