Years of life lost due to radiation exposure - averaging problems

Description

We present a new method for assessing a lifetime lost due to an environmental irradiation, which is based on a model for population with fixed age at exposure and natural duration of life. Based on joint probability distribution for these parameters, an averaging procedure is suggested for evaluation of average number of years of life lost (YLL). As one example, the YLL are calculated and compared with the other literature data. (author)
