Regularities of uranium (6) flotation isolation from dilute carbonate and sulfuric acid solutions with the acid of alkylpyridinium bromides

Description

A study was made on the process of flotation isolation of carbonate and sulfate uranyl complexes, collected from diluted aqueous solutions, using bromides of tetra-, penta- and hexadecylpyridinium. It is shown that process rate is determined by the value of energy repulsion barrier between sublate particles and air bubbles. Temperature effect on the process is dictated by the nature of uranium-containing solution and the length of alkyl chain of the collector. Time required for sublate flotation isolation decreases with increase of length of alkyl substituent of the collector
