The influence of NMR parameters on imaging
- 1. Deutsche Klinic fur Diagnostik, Weisbaden
Description
During the past 2 years the authors have conducted a study supported by the Federal Ministry of Research and Technology to examine the clinical correlation of NMR as well as the influence of NMR parameters on imaging using a prototype of a Bruker air coil whole-body magnet system with a field strength of 0.14 Tesla. Biological tissues can differ mainly in four NMR-relevant characteristics: proton density, the relaxation times T/sub 1/ and T/sub 2/, and the blood flow velocity in the examined tissue. Since imaging and tissue differentiation are considered to be the potential values of NMR, diagnostic judgement should take into account all measurable NMR parameters - depending on the clinical problem
