Comparison of magnetization processes in differently prepared Sm2Fe17N3 permanent magnets
- 1. Institut fuer Festkoerper- und Werkstofforschung Dresden e.V. (Germany)
Description
Sm2Fe17N3 magnets were prepared by Zn-bonding of coarse grained powder, additional milling after nitrogenation, or grain refinement of Sm2Fe17 by HDDR. They exhibit significant differences in microstructure and magnetization behaviour, but show common differences to sintered Nd-Fe-B, possibly due to the presence of very small particles. During long milling, Sm2Fe17N3 powders become exchange coupled two phase materials. (orig.)
