Description
This paper describes the development of microcomputer based reactivity safety channel and stand alone FIT (Fine Impulse Test) instrumentation as part of the modernization of nuclear instrumentation of Fast Breeder Test Reactor(FBTR). Both the systems are built around the Intel's 8088 CPU. The hardware is in the form of standardised single euro cards with passive VME back plane and the software has been developed as per the standard guide lines set by IEC 880 document.
