Fusion and quasi-elastic processes near the Coulomb barrier
Description
An overview of the fusion phenomenon below Coulomb barrier is presented. The current theoretical descriptions, emphasizing the relations with direct reactions are discussed. The definition and systematic behaviour of the fusion enhancement below the Coulomb barrier are also presented. The role of coupling to surface degrees of freedom, namely permanent deformations of nuclei, inelastic and transfer channels is shown. The importance of studies describing simultaneously quase-elastic processes and fusion are also shown. (M.C.K.)
Abstract (Portuguese)
Apresenta-se uma visao geral sobre o fenomeno de fusao abaixo da barreira Coulombiana e discutem-se as descricoes teoricas correntes, enfatizando-se as relacoes diretas. Apresentam-se tambem a definicao e o comportamento sistematico da fusao abaixo da barreira Coulombiana. Mostra-se a funcao do acoplamento aos graus de liberdade de superficie, a saber, deformacoes permanentes do nucleo, canais inelasticos e de transferencia. Mostra-se tambem a importancia dos estudos descrevendo simultaneamente processos quase-elasticos e fusao. (M.C.K.)Files
