Evaluation of the DWPF Cold Chem Dissolution Method with Sludge Batch 3 Simulant
Description
Experiments were performed with non-radioactive sludge to determine if the room temperature HF-HNO3 dissolution method used in the DWPF on the Slurry Receipt and Adjustment Tank samples will be effective on the Sludge Batch 3 feed that contains Tank 7 sludge. This dissolution method is particularly rapid and convenient and has been used in the DWPF for several years to minimize analytical turnaround times
