Determining S17(0) from the 10B(7Be,8B)9Be reaction

Description

The authors have performed DWBA calculations for the reactions 3He(7Be,8B)2H and 10B(7Be,8B)9Be. From this they have derived the asymptotic normalization coefficient corresponding to the overlap integral of the 7Be and 8B ground states. By means of this coefficient the astrophysical S factor for the 7Be(p,γ)8B reaction at solar energies, Ecm∼20 keV can be determined. (HSI)
