Description
Gain and loss of electron kinetic energy through the mechanism of direct and inverse collisional bremsstrahlung, in the presence of a static magnetic field B, has been investigated within the framework of a non-relativistic classical theory. Interaction with ions is described by means of a Coulomb potential. Two special cases have been considered in detail, namely when the electric field of the wave is either linearly polarized along B, or circularly polarized in a plane perpendicular to B. (author)
