Heysham 2 and Torness AGRs raise power in record time
Description
The UK CEGB claims a world record for the time taken to achieve full power from the first rod withdrawal for a commercial nuclear reactor. This was achieved in just 44 days at the first unit of its Heysham 2 Advanced Gas-cooled Reactor station. (author)
