Utilities' demands on an HTR power plant
Description
West German utilities' demands on HTR power plants refer mainly to better fuel utilisation, lower emission rates, lower cooling water requirements, and clear and consequent separation of redundancies in order to achieve high availability and safety. The demands on reactor materials are described in the latest RSK guideline for PWR reactors; they can be applied with some modifications, also to HTR reactors. The components used should be well-tried in other nuclear power plants. (GL)
Abstract (German)
Die Anforderungen der EVU in der BRD um ein HTR-Kraftwerk liegen insbesondere auf besserer Brennstoffausnutzung, niedrigeren Freisetzungsraten, geringerem Kuehlwasserbedarf, sowie infolge hoher Verfuegbarkeit einer sicheren Anlage die saubere und komponente Trennung der Redundanzen. Die Anforderungen an die Reaktorwerkstoffe sind in der neuesten RSK-Leitlinie fuer DWRU beschrieben und koennen sinngemaess auf den HTR uebertragen werden. Bei der Typenauswahl der Komponenten sollen in der Regel nur bewaehrte Brennteile eingesetzt werden, die in anderen KWs eine Bewaehrungszeit hinter sich haben. (GL)Additional details
