Separation of TPE and REE using zirconium salt of DBPA

Description
On the basis of systematic investigation on extraction of transplutonium elements, rare earths, Y and Mo using solution of zirconium salt of dibutylphosphoric acid in 30 % TBP as an extractant variant of two-cycle scheme of transplutonium elements separation from raffinate of the first cycle of purex-process is developed and tested on testing unit of centrifugal extractors. The process allows for mutual isolation of transplutonium elements, rare earths, Mo and Y, separation of Am concentrate in mixture with cerium rare earths in acid region with purification from Mo and Y and more complete separation of Am and cerium rare earths in buffer region in the presence of complexone (DTPA). Summarized per two cycle distribution coefficient of Am purification from La and Ce is more then 200, from Pr and Nd - 20-30 and from Sm and Eu - 3.5. Reextracts of rare earths in both cycles content not more then 0.1 % of transplutonium elements
Abstract (Russian)
На основе систематических исследований по экстракции трансплутониевых элементов, редкоземельных элементов, Y и Мо с использованием в качестве экстрагента раствора циркониевой соли дибутилфосфорной кислоты разработан и испытан на стенде центробежных экстракторов вариант двухцикличной схемы выделения трансплутониевых элементов из рафината первого цикла пурекс-процесса. Процесс предусматривает совместное извлечение трансплутониевых элементов, редкоземельных элементов, Y и Мо, выделение концентрата Am в смеси с цериевыми редкоземельными элементами в кислой области с очисткой от Mo и Y, и более полное разделение Am и цериевых редкоземельных элементов в буферной области в присутствии комплексона (ДТПА). Суммарный за два цикла коэффициент очистки Am от La и Ce составил более 200, от Pr и Nd - 20-30, а от Sm и Eu - 3.5. Реэкстракты редкоземельных элементов в обоих циклах содержали не более 0.1 % трансплутониевых элементовAdditional details
