Time, dose and fractionation (TDF) factor in brachytherapy

  • 1. National Sapporo Hospital (Japan)

Description

The time, dose and fractionation (TDF) factors in brachytherapy were analized using clinical data of the tongue cancer. 93 cases of squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue were treated by single of plane implant with 137Cs needles. Most patients of the 93 cases were ranged TDF 100 to 150, and primary local control of the tongue and complication were not related to TDF. The concept and equivalent definition of TDF in brachytherapy were questionable in our data. We thought that TDF is not good parameter for biological iso-effect in brachytherapy. (author)
