Development of software for remote operation of trigger pulse generator unit

  • 1. Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, Indore (India)

Description

Trigger pulse generator unit is developed to control the electron beam parameters. Precise trigger frequency and width of trigger pulse are to be controlled and monitored for correct operation of e-LINAC. Trigger unit generates trigger pulse train (Pulse Repetition Rate-PRR) which is feed to modulator circuitry so that electrons emitted from electron gun and is accelerated in LINAC for irradiation of various food products in Agriculture Radiation Processing Facility (ARPF). PRR is an important parameter to control the amount of radiation dose applied on food items. The required amount of irradiation dose level varies for different food products and to achieve this requirement, changes in PRR value is required. Trigger pulse generator remote control software is developed to work in handshake with trigger generator unit hardware and offer flexibility and easy operation from control room operator console. This paper highlights the scheme and features of software developed for remote operation
