Refractive Index Sensitivity of Tilted Long Period Fibre Gratings Written in Thinned Cladding Fibre

Description

We demonstrated the fabrication of tilted long period fibre gratings written in the thinned cladding fibre by CO2 laser. The refractive index characteristics of the gratings with different tilted angles were investigated experimentally. The experimental results show that the grating with larger tilted angle has higher sensitivity to the surrounding refractive index changes. (paper)
