Description
The company of aqueduct of Bucaramanga has participated from 1994 in the activities developed in the mark of the inter-administrative agreement of the Surata River whose purpose is the one of reducing the contamination for cyanide and mercury originated in the auriferous mining. The Bosconia Plant has a nominal capacity of treatment of 2000 L/s; at the moment it contributes 26% of the water given to the metropolitan area. The water is captured of the river Surata through a lateral hydrant, two clearing of sand type Dufour where sands and suspended material are removed. Once conditioned the water enters to the plant of conventional treatment, which consists of quick mixture, four mechanical flocculates, and four parallel clearing of sand of badges, twelve filters of declining rate, disinfections, pH adjustment and storage
