Skeleton recommendations for disaster management in the vicinity of nuclear installations, adopted by the Conference of the Ministers of the Interior, (Oct. 6, 1988), and the Laender Committee for Nuclear Energy - executive committee - (Dec. 1, 1988)

The recommendations apply to nuclear installations in West Germany, including waste reprocessing plant, and to foreign nuclear installations at sites near the frontier recommending inclusion in national disaster management planning. The skeleton defines the responsibilities of national authorities and plant operators, and the necessary connections between them as well as separate or joint action to be taken; further, basic principles of setting up emergency management plans for areas in the vicinity of nuclear installations, and explanations of the alarm system. There also is a section with information on additional, preventive measures to be taken. (DG)
