In situ applicability of a seashore deformation forecasting method by using a counter line changing model considering on effects of exposed rock area

Description
The counter line changing model is one of the effective numerical analysis methods to estimate a wide area and long term seashore deformation. Hitherto, as some investigations based on hydraulic model experimental results mainly for an object of sandy seashore, investigation on applicability to a sea area with developing exposed rock area have not been conducted yet. Here was investigated on in situ applicability of a counter line changing model considering on effects of exposed rock area for a model area of north side sea area in the Hirono Thermal Power Plant. As a result, it was clarified that the long term and wide area sea bottom topographical changes could be almost reproduced by setting properly for some input conditions such as vertical directional distribution of coastal sand drift amount, and so forth, to consider an effect of exposed rocks.(G.K.)
