The accelerator after next
Creators
Description
Reference is made to a working meeting at Hamburg on 22 February 1977. This meeting was concerned with electron-positron storage rings of 100 GeV for LEP (large electron positron project). The working meeting reviewed the theoretical and technical case for building an LEP machine. The final opinion of the meeting was very positive in that the project should be the next major accelerator project to be proposed. It would give answers to the most important theoretical questions, whereas all other machines, existing or planned, will only give indirect answers. (U.K.)
