Temperature dependences of third-order elastic constants of CsCl, CsBr, and CsI crystals
Description
Expressions for third-order elastic constants (TOEC) of CsCl-structure solids are derived taking the thermal contribution into account. Six distinct values of TOEC for CsCl, CsBr, and CsI crystals are calculated at 0 K and at room temperature (300 K). Values of pressure derivatives of second-order elastic constants are also calculated corresponding to both the temperatures. The phonon-pressure contribution is incorporated within the framework of the three-body potential model. The results are discussed and compared with other investigations. (author)
