The IAEA program
Description
The roles of the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) are first reviewed and the IAEA program concerning WWER 440/230 type unit safety is presented, which comprises two steps: a safety analysis step with ranked safety feature recommendations, and a follow-up and assistance step for implementation of the different recommendations. The first step was achieved at the end of 1991; the second step has started in 1991 and is still under operation
