Description

The inclusive characteristics of three-pion systems diffractively produced on nucleon and nuclear targets are investigated. The reactions under study are induced by charged pions with momenta near 4 GeV/c. The penetrability (transparency) of the nucleus for the leading particle is found to vary with the Feynman variable xF and with the effective mass of the emitted three-pion system
