Superconducting heavy ion booster linacs

Creators

  • 1. Nuclear Science Centre, New Delhi (India)

Description

Superconducting booster linacs have been developed in various research laboratories to increase the energy of the beam mainly from tandem electrostatic accelerators. Some of them are operational for a couple of decades. Some new accelerating structures are under construction and test. The characteristics and performance of these structures are improving steadily. The design and performance of some of the cavities will be reviewed with an emphasis on the developments and performance of this type of booster systems developed in India. (author)
