Description

Theoretical analysis of hydrogen isotopic exchange equilibrium in the gas-solid hydride system of an intermetallic compound (IMC) for the case, when hydrogen atoms can replace vacancies of several different types in the lattice, is conducted. A method for separation coefficient calculation is elaborated and in the approximation of absence of the vacancies mutual effect, theoretical analysis of its dependence on concentration (pressure) of hydrogen in the system and relative number of different-type vacancies in IMC lattice is performed. It is ascertained that dependence of separation coefficient αH-D on gaseous phase pressure, in case of constant isotopic composition, can indicate that vacancies of different type take place in hydrogen absorption in the system
