Advanced technologies for a compact rf linac FEL

Description

Advanced technologies such as the photoinjector, the short-period microwigglers, and harmonic lasing enable free-electron-laser operation in the infrared with a low-energy (∼ 10 MeV) electron beam and thus reduce the size and cost of FELs. The next-generation, rf-linac FEL will fit in a small laboratory and produce high-power, picosecond infrared
