Energy resolution valuation of a parabolic-spherical geometry in gamma spectrometry

  • 1. Instituto de Engenharia Nuclear (IEN), Rio de Janeiro, RJ (Brazil)

Description

The energy resolutions of hemispherical and parabolic-spherical shapes were measured. The results show that parabolic-spherical shape improves the energy resolution, about 33.6% for Compton edge due to a 137 Cs radioactive source, proving its better light collection efficiency.
