Total cross section for radiative electron-ion recombination
Description
A new method for studying radiative recombination between a nonrelativistic electron and hydrogen-like ion is proposed. The method is based on using the analytical properties of the Green function for an electron in a Coulomb field. The total cross section for the process and total effective radiation are calculated. The exact result is compared with the familiar asymptotic and interpolation formulas
