Description
For different analysis related to the safety and availability of a nuclear power plant it is necessary to know the temperature field of a component or equipment. When thermal analysis involves complex geometries and different heat transfer mechanisms the finite element method is recommended to solve it. This paper describes a computer simulation of a steam generator lug and presents its temperature profile evolution during start up and shut down of a nuclear power reactor. the results from code calculation show good agreement with the experimental data.
