Kaon-induced deuteron disintegration

Creators

Description

The authors discuss two of the simplest K-nuclear reactions, namely K-d → Σ-p / Λn. These reactions are governed by essentially the same kinematics as the reaction, π-p → pp. They use the Δ-rescattering model proposed by Brack, Riska and Weise and extend this model to a consideration of kaon reactions by replacing the Δ-rescattering contribution to the π-d amplitude by the corresponding processes involving excitation of the low lying KN resonances.
