Friction and geometry in 16O-induced reactions

Description
The dependence with energy and target mass of friction coefficients K deduced from 16O-induced reaction data are analyzed within the one-body energy dissipation formalism. The observed systematics for K are explained as arising from changes in the effective reaction geometry. A unified expression for the angular distributions of the projectilelike products from these reactions is deduced
