Description

Blue and ultraviolet luminescence centers in the surface of mechanically activated silicon dioxide are investigated. Emission and excitation luminescence spectra, life times of the centres in electron-excited state are measured. Reactivity of luminescenting defects during interaction with various gases (O2, CO, H2, H·, N2O) is determined. As a result of a detailed study of optical and chemical properties of the luminescence centres their identity with surface double coordinated silicon atoms or silylene centres =Si: is proved. Energy diagram of levels and electron transitions in the centre of luminescence is suggested
