Improvements in radiographic imaging obtained with the Super Rotalix Ceramic X-ray tube
Description
The Super Rotalix Ceramic X-ray tube is described, with particular reference to those characteristics that improve image quality mainly by reducing extrafocal radiation. A technique for measuring extrafocal radiation is described, and the results obtained with the Super Rotalix Ceramic are compared with those of a conventional X-ray tube. The reduction in extrafocal radiation is considerable, and the resulting improvement in image quality is greater than anticipated. It is concluded that incorporation of the Super Rotalix Ceramic in the X-ray imaging chain can yield a significant improvement in overall image quality. (Auth.)
