Acetylene insertion and thermolysis reactions of [η4-catena(PhAs)8] [Mo2(CO)6]. The synthesis and crystal structure of [(PhAs)8Mo2 (CO)6] [C2CO2CH3]2 and ([Mo(CO)4]2) (μ-Ph2AsAsPh) (μ-Ph2As)
Description
Reactive acetylenes are inserted at one (but not both uncoordinated As-As bonds to form an enlarged, but structurally related complex. The second molybdenum complex is formed with dimethylacetylene carboxylate and the third by thermolysis at 1500C. Crystal structures are determined. 5 refs
