Volatile monoterpenes in a stand of Picea abies (L.) Karst

Description

Natural emissions of terpene and their fate in the atmosphere were investigated in a forest stand of the Bayerischer Wald mountains. Terpenes are volatile hydrocarbons whose relevance for air chemistry has increased considerably in the past few years. The investigation compared different sources of terpene in order to determine their strength as a function of meteorological, air-chemical and biological parameters. (orig./BBR)

Abstract (German)

In einem Fichtenwald des Nationalparks Bayerischer Wald wurde die natuerliche Emission von Terpenen untersucht und ihr Verhalten in der Atmosphaere charakterisiert. Terpene haben als fluechtige Kohlenwasserstoffe in den letzten Jahren in der Luftchemie zunehmend an Beachtung gewonnen. Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit lag in der Untersuchung verschiedener Terpenquellen, um deren Quellstaerke in Abhaengigkeit von meteorologischen, luftchemischen und biologischen Parametern zu bestimmen.
