Availability management of Ontario Hydro's CANDU Nuclear Generating Stations
Description
Ontario Hydro is a publicly owned utility, involved in the design, construction, and operation of the province of Ontario's bulk electricity system. All nuclear capacity is of the Canada deuterium-uranium pressurized heavy water reactor (Candu) reactor design. Availability management at Ontario hydro is discussed from the standpoint of design and operations. Availability management at the Candu units has contributed to excellent performance
